  PWS PrinciPal’s News

We are a community that inspires and develops, engaged, successful learners every chance, every day.

Peter Woodbury School-A Place Where People Care!

September 10, 2021

Dear PWS Families,

Happy Friday! We can tell that you all had an active Labor Day weekend as the students came back sleepy on Tuesday. It has been a busy week at PWS as things have started to pick up at PWS now that routines have been established. The children are amazing. We noticed two Kindergarten students greeting each other this morning as they were being dropped off. They were so eager to see each other as they said, "Good Morning." A couple of first graders wanted to get married. Second graders were playing I-Spy at lunch. An excited third grader told us it was her father's birthday. Mrs. Daley and Mr. Robitaille enjoyed their time this week meeting with third and fourth grade classrooms to introduce the new Google Jamboard with Mrs. Cassamassino. Those classes have been using our new technology to discuss community. Teachers and students are also working hard to get the building prepared for Open House next week. (More information below.) Please take a few minutes to read upcoming dates and information below.

PWS Open House:

PWS will hold its Open House on Tuesday, September 14 for Grades 1-4 at the following times:

Grades 1 & 2 5:30-6:15 pm

Grades 3 & 4 6:30-7:15 pm

The Book Fair will run during Open House from 5:00-7:30 pm. We look forward to seeing all that can attend! Parents and students are both welcome to Open House*

PWS Kindergarten Open House:

We are excited to try something new this year! We will host a parents/guardians only Open House for kindergarten parents on Monday, September 20th from 6pm-7pm.

(This is different from Open House Grades 1-4 on Tuesday September 14th).

Our Open House will be a time for kindergarten teachers to share information regarding routines, curriculum, and answer any questions parents may have. Due to the amount of parents attending, this will not be a time to discuss individual student progress. Parent-teacher conferences will take place in early November.

 PWS Chorus:

Fourth Grade Musicians who enjoy singing are encouraged to sign up for the Peter Woodbury Chorus. We are excited to announce that this co-curricular activity will once again be available to all 4th graders. Please see the sign up letter from Mrs. Curran for more detailed information. All interested students must enroll with this online form by September 16th. Enrollment will be limited to no more than 60 singers. The first chorus rehearsal will take place Tuesday, September 28th from 2:20 pm-3:00 pm.

 Bus Reminders:

Families, please remember that your student will need to wear a mask while riding the school bus. It is a good idea to have some extras in their backpack.
