Dear PWS Families,

We would like to begin this week’s newsletter by thanking PWS families and PWS Staff for making Open House. We truly enjoy getting to connect as a community. A big shout out to all who volunteered from PTG to operate the Fall book fair. As soon as the students saw the crates of books they starting asking, "When do I get to go?" It is so exciting to see the love of reading from the students.

Anything missed at the book fair?

Please click Here for any last minute selections. Available through 9/21.

Please take a moment to read about all that is going on around our school and the district.

PWS News:

PWS Kindergarten Open House:

We are excited to try something new this year! We will host a parents/guardians only Open House for kindergarten parents on Monday, September 20th from 6pm-7pm.

(This is different from Open House Grades 1-4 on Tuesday September 14th).

Our Open House will be a time for kindergarten teachers to share information regarding routines, curriculum, and answer any questions parents may have. Due to the amount of parents attending, this will not be a time to discuss individual student progress. Parent-teacher conferences will take place in early November.

Bus Reminders:

Families, please remember that your student will need to wear a mask while riding the school bus. It is a good idea to have some extras in their backpack.

DESTINATION IMAGINATION:

The Bedford School District is proud to offer Destination Imagination (Bedford DI) as an extra curricular program in all of our schools. Registration is now open and anyone interested should complete the application here  For more information on What is DI/Covid-19 guidelines, please check https://bit.ly/3tSLQnR. Registration closes October 1.

Kinship Navigation Program:

The Kinship Navigation Program offers services that provide parent education, emotional support, information and resources, and help to support families who may be struggling financially to enroll in things like SNAP or grants that are specifically designated for these families.  Please click Here for more information.
