Hello PWS Families,

Thank you all so much for helping to make our Family Fitness Night a huge success!  It was an amazing night with Zumba, Yoga, Go Noodle, Book Walk, Photo Booth and off course our baskets!!!

Here is just an example of the fun had at the Photo Booth...

Some parents asked about the PWS magnets being sold last night. If you would like to purchase one just send in $5.00 with your child and we will get them the magnet.

Parent Pick Up
Students are called down for parent pick up 2:20.  We appreciate you patiently standing in line waiting for your children.  This year we have started to use laminated green cards for parents who regularly pick up.  This makes the line to get out the door a little longer.  We have different adults on duty each day so it is important you have your laminated card to get your child's name checked off. Again, we appreciate your patience with this.  When you are waiting in line, we understand young children running around in the big wide open space.  Please keep an eye on them because we would not want one of them to get their cute little fingers caught in the moving wall.  Please feel free to call us if you have any questions.

New Alternative Entree in the Dining Hall
Starting Monday, we will be offering a NEW Alternate Entree that will consist of a Sunbutter & Jelly sandwich and a String Cheese Stick in a small bag.  This sandwich is just like an Uncrustable, but it has sunbutter instead of peanut butter, is made with w/g bread, and is rectangular in shape, instead of round.  The Cheese Stick is to add an extra protein component. As like the other alternate entrees, the student may chose this entree instead of our main hot lunch entree and still get all the sides.

Scholastic Book Fair
Here's some important info:
The theme this year is Book Fair Under the Sea
The fair runs Monday 4/6-Thursday 4/10  Thursday 4/9
The fair hours will be: Monday 8:00 am-3:30 pm, Tuesday-8:00 am-7:00 pm, Wednesday-8:00 am-7:00 pm and Thursday 8:00 am-3:00 pm.

Students will all have an opportunity to preview the book fair during the week with their class and create a "wish list" of books they like.  Parents are welcome any time during fair hours to come to shop for great books.

There will also be a "classroom wish list" for each teacher on display at the fair.  If a parent wants to purchase and donate a book in their child's name to a teacher they can do so at the fair.

We will also have the program "All-For-Books" again this year.  For every dollar donated at the PWS Book Fair, Scholastic will donate a book to a child in need and the monies raised will be used to purchase more books for PWS classrooms.  Each child who donates to the All-For-Books will get a Sea Life sticker and a chance to win a book.

If we exceed $200 in All For Books donations, Mr. Mitchell has agreed to dress in a costume that will be voted on by the kids!

Our Promise to Nicholas Easter Egg Hunt:
There may still be snow on the ground, but searching for eggs is a sure sign of spring!  This popular charity event will be held on Saturday, April 4 at the NH Sportsplex, from 8:30 - 11:00 AM.  While not actively hunting for eggs, spend the morning enjoying live entertainment, games, face painting, bounce houses & much more! Tickets are $8 per person or $30 per family.  Cash or check will be accepted at the door.  The Foundation, named for Nicholas Dainiak of Bedford, raises funds to fight a rare and fatal brain illness called Batten Disease.  It is the spirit of hope and community togetherness that makes this event so special.  For more information visit ourpromisetonicholas.com.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Happy Friday!  We hope you all had a a great St. Patrick's Day!  The school was full of green on Tuesday.  The K Plus students came to our offices to receive their treasure from the leprechaun.

Parent Morning Drop Off
We appreciate you continuing to work with us at keeping students safe during parent drop off.  The parking lot can still be slippery.  When you are dropping off your child, if you are having the student get out on the driver's side please help them to get out and walk around the car.  We do not want children slipping and falling.  Also, as a driver please be aware that this may be the situation with the car ahead or behind you.

Smarter Balanced Testing
This was the first week of Smarter Balanced Testing for third and fourth graders.  We had a glitch on Monday but since then everything has run smoothly.  A special thank you to our technology teacher and the staff for all their help with this.  A special thank you to all of you who got your children to bed on time and made sure they had a healthy breakfast. We continue these important assessments for the next few weeks. Pleas continue to encourage your child to work well and try their best.

Well tonight at 6:45 PM is the beginning of Spring!  We want to wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Hello PWS Families,

It has been a great week back at school. Students have been enjoying the warmer weather outside. Each class is going to make a guess as to when the snow bank will be melted!  The guesses will be displayed on the penguins on our "indoor snow bank."

Allergy Video
This week we focused our lunchtime talks on the topic of allergies. We discussed many aspects of allergies and responsibilities. We ended the week by showing the students the video linked below. We wanted to share this with you in the hopes that the conversation and learning can continue.
