PWS PrinciPal’s News
We are a community that inspires and develops, engaged, successful learners every chance, every day.
June 15, 2018

PWS Families,
The excitement of the end of the year is filling the halls of PWS. The end of the year parties have begun and it is great to have so many parent visitors every day.  The Kindergarteners are busy preparing for their Recognition. We cannot wait to hear their beautiful songs. Earlier today, we had our fourth grade BBQ. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who came out and helped make this event so special for our fourth graders and their families. Also, thank you to the Bedford Men's Club for their help in preparing the food.
Earlier this week, the Bedford graduating Seniors, who attended PWS, came back for a visit and a final clap out. This is one of our favorite events. We are not sure who is more excited the students or seniors. It is always so nice to see how our former students have grown up so nicely. We are sure it will feel like no time at all before our current students are graduating Seniors as well.
We are keeping a close eye on the weather for this Monday. The reports call for extreme heat. Please know, that if necessary, we will reduce recesses to limit the children's exposure to the heat. Please consider sending extra water in with your child to help them deal with the heat forecasted.
Finally, this will be our last blog of the year, so we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Thank you for the opportunity to educate your child. Thank you for the support that you have shown us. Thank you for the time you have put in to making PWS such a special place. This has been a remarkable year that wouldn't have been possible with out our incredible students, teachers, staff, and families. To our departing families: We will miss you, but you will always be part of PWS, come back and visit us any time!

Thank You and Have a Great Summer,
Cheryl Daley (Principal)
Dan Mitchell (Assistant Principal)

Many parents are looking for ways to keep their child's academic skills sharp over the summer. If you would like to do this, we recommend using the Summer Skills Sharpeners Book from  Tri-C Publication. You should order your child's current grade level if you choose to order.

PWS New.pngPWS PrinciPal’s News
PWS Families,
For a short week it was certainly packed with plenty of excitement and energy. This week we welcomed our incoming Kindergartners and First Graders and their families at our orientations. We cannot wait for them to join us at PWS. We are certain that these students and families will add to the continued excellence and passion that makes Peter Woodbury so great.

As the weather has gotten warmer, we find ourselves more and more enjoying the wonderful outdoor experiences we have here. Please make sure your child is coming to school with plenty of water and a water bottle to refill as the day goes on. Also, we ask that if you choose to use sunscreen that you apply it before the day begins.

This coming Thursday is our annual Field Day. This is a day that teachers and students look forward to. Mrs. Ferenc is hard at work creating a memorable day for all involved. If you are able and interested in volunteering please sign up HERE . We still need volunteers to make this day possible.

Finally, we began this week with the recognition of Memorial Day. While we had the day off to spend with family and friends, we also wanted to take a moment to remember those that have served and those that may have lost their lives for our freedom. We honor all those service men and women in any way connected to Peter Woodbury School.
Have a Great Weekend,
Cheryl Daley (Principal)
Dan Mitchell (Assistant Principal)
