June 11, 2021

Hello PWS Families,

Happy Last Day of School! We had such a fun time celebrating the end of this unique school year. Our students have shown perseverance all year and we are so proud of how they handled all of the changes. We are thankful for our excellent staff that continued to find a way to deliver their best to the students of Peter Woodbury School. Thank you parents for your continued support, flexibility and understanding.

We wish you all a safe and happy summer in which you get to relax and enjoy time with your children. While we are excited for the summer vacation, we can’t wait to welcome back our students in the fall.

Take care,

Mrs. Cheryl Daley and Mr. Marc Robitaille

603 Bright Futures Survey:

The New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members. The 603 Bright Futures Survey is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard. These surveys will gather feedback around learning, school climate, family and community engagement, and parent involvement in special education. Parents completing the survey should complete it once for each child.

The New Hampshire Department of Education  hopes to gain insight regarding the successes and challenges of the recent school year and to plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The Department of Education has partnered with Panorama Education to implement the 603 Bright Futures Survey. The survey will remain open until June 30.

Please use the following link to access the survey. Your feedback is valuable.

Dear PWS Families,

It was a very very eventful week at PWS as the school year is beginning to wrap up. Our fourth graders enjoyed Egg Day on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week as they tested their egg carriers in a number of different situations. Eggs were dropped from ladders, flung from a fire truck ladder, smashed with bats, and squashed with a sledge hammer. In the end we had six students make it through the two days with their eggs in one piece. We would like to thank the fourth grade team and the Bedford Fire Department for their assistance in making these days memorable. We were very proud of and impressed by all of the “eggcellent” designs! The school also celebrated field day today and it was certainly a hit. Students in grades one through four went outside to participate in a number of exciting relays and activities to help wrap up the year. Thank you Mrs. Ferenc for all of the planning and preparation and thank you to all of our awesome parent volunteers. Please take a moment to read about end of the year updates from our school and district.

Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program:

At the end of last year, Congress established the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) program. On February 25, the FCC adopted an order to implement the program designed to help low-income households and households that have suffered a substantial loss of income to connect to the Internet and stay connected during the COVID-19 crisis.

The Benefit Includes up to $50/month discount for broadband service from any participating Internet service provider, including Comcast, and is limited to one monthly service discount per eligible household. Both new and existing customers who qualify can take advantage of the Federal government broadband subsidy. The subsidy can be applied to any tier of Xfinity Internet, including Internet Essentials. Internet Essentials customers automatically qualify and will just need to enroll.

New customers should start by confirming their eligibility through the federal National Verifier, at The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program (getemergencybroadband.org).

For more details about the program, please check the following links:

The Bedford School District does not administer this program - you should work directly with Comcast or your Internet Provider. Most of our families do use Comcast, but because this program is nationwide, other providers should also be participating, including the mobile providers.
