Peter Woodbury School- A Place Where People Care!
February 21, 2020
Dear PWS Families,
Last Night's Family Fun Night was a huge success. It was great to see so many families come back to school and enjoy Yoga, snowflake making, book walks, raffles, pizza, and reading activities. When the night was done raffle winners were called, much ice cream and pizza was enjoyed, and the school raised over $6,000. Thank you to everyone who made this night so successful.
We hope you all have a wonderful and restful vacation. We are excited to see what March has in store for us.
Have a Great Vacation,
Cheryl Daley, Principal

Intelligent Lives (Film)
Intelligent Lives is a film by New Hampshire’s own Dan Habib. The film stars three young American adults with Intellectual Disabilities who challenge the perception of intelligence as they find their way through high school, college and the workforce.  This film questions what it means to be intelligent and points to a future in which people of all abilities can participate in higher education, meaningful employment, and personal relationships.
Bedford School District, in partnership with Amherst School District, Merrimack School District, Manchester School District, the Bedford PTG, and St. Anselm’s Meelia Center, will be hosting a screening of the film on March 31, 2020 at 6:30 PM in the Bedford High School theatre.  Following the film, there will be a question and answer session led by the filmmaker, Dan Habib.
Free tickets can be reserved by clicking HERE.

Peter Woodbury School- A Place Where People Care!
February 14, 2020
Dear PWS Families,
The one day on one day off schedule this week certainly made things interesting, but the students seemed to roll with it just fine. The learning continued and the excitement was still high. It was great seeing so much red, pink, and white today along with the many visitors who came to help us celebrate. Two of our first grade classes celebrated Valentine's Day with our friends at Carlyle Place. It was a truly meaningful experience enjoyed by all that were involved. Please enjoy these photos and link to the students' performance.

Next week is our last before vacation and it will also feature our third grade inventive thinking unit, fourth grade invention convention, and Family Fun Night. It should be amazing, so make sure to get plenty of rest this weekend.
Finally, as you know our Family Fun Night was postponed due to the weather. We look forward to having this event on Thursday, February 20th. Your tickets are still good and if you are now able to come because of the change, you are still able to order food until Monday, February 17th. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase the night of the event. We cannot wait!
Have a Great Weekend,
Cheryl Daley, Principal
Dan Mitchell, Assistant Principal

Peter Woodbury School- A Place Where People Care!
February 7, 2020
Dear PWS Families,
It is hard to believe, but today we celebrated the 100th Day of school. This is a particularly exciting day in our Kindergarten and first grade classrooms. The students celebrated with special activities and some even wore tee shirts with 100 items on them to commemorate the day. Our Kindergarten classes decided to use this day as a challenge day and were able to collect 100 boxes of Mac and Cheese.

This past Wednesday, Peter Woodbury School participated in Global School Play Day. During this day our students experienced the joys of unstructured play while improving their critical thinking, cooperative learning, visual memory, and creativity. We were able to witness intense games of twister, fun with slime, legos, boards, and even some fort building. It was a great day of learning opportunities enjoyed by all (adults included)! Please enjoy the slideshow below for highlights of the day!
Next Friday will be our next Spirit Day. Since it will also be Valentine's Day, the theme of the day will be to dress in Valentine Colors. We are excited to break out our red, pink, and white for next Friday.
Finally, as you know our Family Fun Night was postponed due to the weather. We look forward to having this event on Thursday, February 20th.
