Dear PWS Families,

We hope this post finds you well and you have been able to enjoy some time in the sun over the last week with your children. Our fourth graders all got a chance to participate in Lego Day this week. Students worked in small groups to create some engineering designs with legos and computer coding. Other grade levels in the school got to participate in building Wiggle Bots. Students built simple machine designs that operated off the power of a battery. It was wonderful to see all of the engineering designs that the students came up with this week. Please take a moment to see all that is going on at PWS and around the district.

May 14, 2021

Dear PWS Families,

We want to express how very grateful we are to the Parent/Teacher Group. This Teacher/Staff Appreciation week felt so heartwarming.  The Girl Scout cookies, flowers, cards, candy, gift cards, pillows, theme days (where students also participated), and treats everyday kept the staff looking forward to the next surprise. We know we have a devoted staff here at Peter Woodbury, thank you for showing them they are appreciated!  Please see some pictures below.

PWS has been a busy place as the end of school and summer vacation is in sight. Some of our remote learners have started to return to the school for “Transitional Tuesdays.” It has been so exciting to see them in person.

Please take a moment to read about some of the happenings around PWS and the district.

Special Project with Mrs. Stahl’s Class:

Mrs. Stahl’s first grade class completed a special project this week looking at the essential question of "How are things built?

As a result, students have been learning about different structures and how they are made.

The students began by creating various buildings that are needed in a town or city. The children

were placed in small groups where they planned and built a neighborhood.  There was a lot of excitement, engagement and grit here on the job site! As the class proudly looked at their finished project, a student said, "We need a name for our town!"  The students voted and chose the name "Classtown." Please click here for the final product!

Peter Woodbury School-A Place Where People Care!

May 7th, 2021

Dear PWS Families,

It was a busy week at PWS coming back from April vacation! The school welcomed some special guests as Miss Allen’s third grade class is incubating duck eggs over the next few weeks. Everyone is very excited about watching the progress of the eggs and the eventual hatching. Miss Thissell’s third grade class also had special guests to review their tiny house projects. Our guests or “clients” were very pleased with the hard work that the students put in to design these special tiny homes.  Next week our school will be celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. We are excited to see all the fun activities that have been planned for our amazing staff. Please take a moment to read about all that is going on at our school and the Bedford School District.
