Hello PWS Families,

We are so excited to announce our mascot's new name......The new Peter Woodbury School penguin mascot's name is WADDLES!  I want to thank all the PWS staff that made this voting process such a huge success.  Students were talking about voting in the hallways, at lunch and on the school yard.  We had 283 students vote from PWS.  Thank you to all the parents for helping this happen.  It is never too early to start teaching students the importance of voting.

April Break Opportunity for Kids
Looking for a way to keep the kids busy over April break?  Have your students expressed interest in getting involved in theater?  Registration is still open for former PWS student Emma Benson's senior project, the STAR Program! (Spring Theater Arts Repertoire).  This is a unique opportunity for students from 3rd-8th grade to take master classes in all things theater related, from improv comedy to onstage fighting, audition technique to circus arts.  Students will also be able to participate in a showcase in order to raise money for a Wall of Fame in the Bedford High School theater.  More information can be found on Emma's website:  https://sites.google.com/bedfordnhk12.net/the-star-program/

GARDEN BEDS for FAMILIES
Our enthusiastic student gardeners often like to plant gardens at home! If you are a family who has talked about gardening, but you don’t have the space, or building a bed seems a bit overwhelming, we are offering for the first time, Garden Beds for Families.  We will have five beds available for families to “lease” for the summer. If you would like more information about this, please contact Mrs.Beltramo at beltramom@sau25.net.

Eyes on Owls
Today, the fourth graders participated in an ORK (PTG) assembly, Eyes on Owls.  The presenters adopt and rescue owls and bring them to schools to educate students.  The owls have a physical disability or are raised by humans.  Eyes on Owls is a preview to the fourth graders dissecting owl pellets that directly relates to the digestion unit.

Have a great weekend,
