PWS PrinciPal’s News
PWS Families,
Well the weather certainly made for an interesting week. We are glad that we did get a few partial days and at least one whole one as well. The kids were certainly full of energy and excitement, whether it was the snow or their vacations, we are not sure. Believe it or not, our Family Fun Night is only one month away. Please plan on joining us on February 8.  More information will be coming home in the next few weeks.
As we mentioned a few weeks back, we will be participating in an ongoing drive to help support the Bedford Food Bank. They have asked that every other month the schools collect a specific item that will support them with their weekend food bags to support Bedford students. For the month of January, Peter Woodbury School will be collecting small 15oz. cans of fruit to support this cause. A bin will be placed in the lobby for any donations. We thank you in advance for your support and generosity.

Family Fun Night 2018

Peter Woodbury's Annual Family Night is taking place on Thursday, February 8, 2018.  This year's theme is Family Olympics A Night of Games and Activities.

Things to know:
  • The night is divided into two sessions: 4-5:30 and 6-7:30.
  • Families can purchase pizza, water, ice cream, book walk, 50/50 raffle, basket raffle and teacher raffle tickets.  Order forms will come home soon.
  • T-Shirts will be available for purchase soon as well.
  • Plenty of free games and activities will be taking place throughout the building.
  • Each classroom picks a basket theme and supplies a basket for the night. Your child's classroom teacher will be in touch about this.
What we need now:
  • Parent Volunteers - please use this Sign Up Genius Link to sign up for what works for you
  • Corporate sponsors to help offset the t-shirt costs. If you are interested in this, please use this form.

From the Superintendent
What are those Numbers in the Windows?
Parents may have noticed that classrooms across the district now have numbers posted in their exterior windows. Those signs are a part of the Bedford School District Incident Command System (ICS). ICS is the nationwide emergency planning protocol established by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The numbers would allow emergency responders to quickly identify classrooms from outside of the building.
