PWS PrinciPal’s News

Dear PWS Families,
If you like to get your weather reports from a rodent, it looks like we are in for another six weeks of winter. We have no doubt though that we are all resilient enough to make it through. One way to survive this winter will be to join us  for our Annual Family Fun Night coming up this Thursday. While the pre-order period has passed you will still be able to buy raffle tickets at the door. We always look forward to this fun, family event. Below you will find a way to participate even if you are not able to join us. This year we are asking any family that is interested to make and send in a family flag. We are looking forward to adding this extra special touch to the Olympic theme.

Have a great weekend, stay warm, and “Go Pats!”

Have a great weekend,
Cheryl Daley (Principal)
Dan Mitchell (Assistant Principal)

News from PWS
Family Fun Night Family Flags
Fami
PWS prides itself with diversity and we are excited to hang the different country flags of all the PWS families at our Family Olympic Games.  If you are interested, please send in your flag no later than Tuesday, February 6th.  Your flag should be on a regular size sheet of white paper (8.5x11) and either printed or colored with crayon/markers.  Your family name should be in the center, along with the country.  All flags will be hung in the PWS hallways for Family Fun Night.  We will be needing lots of USA flags too. If your family cannot attend our Family Olympics, we would still love to hang your flag.  If anyone has any questions, please email Mrs. Russell, russellm@bedfordnhk12.net.  Flags will be hung vertically, like this one:

We are all busy getting ready for Family Fun Night next week. It's going to be so much fun, as it is every year!  There are a few items to note as the date approaches.
-There are 2 sessions on February 8th:
Session 1 is 4:00-5:30
Session 2 is 6:00-7:30
-Tickets purchased in advance will NOT be sent home with students.  You can pick your pre-purchased tickets up that night at the designated tables.

-Order forms will no longer be accepted. Didn't pre-purchase tickets? No worries! You can buy raffle/basket tickets that night. However, food tickets are not available to purchase that night.  The reason for this is that we needed to order all food/drinks prior to February 8th in order to have enough.

-If you ordered a t-shirt, your child will be sent home with your order next week.
Finally, a big thank you to all the parents and teachers who have volunteered their time for this event. You are what makes this night so successful!  Also, thank you to our sponsors (Coke, TCB Agency, Sweet Ginger 2, Blake's, Vachon Dental and Silvia Homes) for donating funds/goods.

Snow Day Lunch Info./Announcements
Some parents across the district have asked if there is a rule of thumb when determining the lunch menu on the day following a snow day.  There is no rule, as the menu for that day is dependent upon what was on the menu the day of the snow day, what prep the kitchen had to do, and what fresh produce the kitchen had ordered.  Therefore, our district’s Food Service Director (Emily Murphy) has decided to provide an announcement on the SAU’s website (www.sau25.net) in the District News box, which will detail, by school, what the hot lunch offering will be the day following the snow day.  This information will be available the day of the snow day.
