PWS Families,
We are looking forward to our 2018-2019 school year! We want to take this opportunity to introduce or reintroduce you all to our blog. This blog is to communicate with you about happenings at PWS, the district, and community. It will be sent out each week on Friday afternoon. You can see below that we separate the information into categories to help you better process the information.
Please feel free to reach out to either of us with any questions or concerns. We can't wait to see you all this Monday at Meet and Greet and then get the school year started on Tuesday.

Hoping you are enjoying your last days of summer,

News from PWS
First Day of School
On the first day, whether the students get dropped off or take the bus, we know some parents walk onto the school yard with their children.  We welcome this but ask parents to stay outside when the student enter the building.  On that morning we will have all PWS staff outside to help with the first day of school transition.  The PWS staff is looking forward to beginning the year with their new students.

Parent Pick Up Slips
If you, or someone you know, will be picking up your child at Parent Pick Up on a regular basis and would like a permanent Pick Up Slip, please fill out the link below. We are asking that you complete the form by Friday, September 7. We will get these slips to you as soon as possible.

Info Snap Completion
Parents should have received an email in early August asking for you to complete the Info Snap Information process. Another email was sent this week to those parents who had not yet completed this process. We ask that you take a moment to complete this information prior to the start of school. If you did not receive this email or are having an issue with the process, please let the main office know.

Sand Toys Needed
This summer our parking lot got redone, our school yard is looking beautiful, and our sandbox is filled with new sand. The only thing that is missing is some sand toys. While there are some, we are always looking for more. So if you have some sand toys at home that aren't getting the love they used to, please consider sending them to us. They are sure to get the love and attention that they deserve.

Lunch Tray Update
For the 2018-2019 school year, the Bedford Food Service Department planned to purchase compostable lunch trays per the approved petition warrant article. In performing comprehensive research into companies that provide these trays, the Food Service Department, in collaboration with the NHDES, located a new and upcoming company, Grow Plastics, to provide the new lunch trays. After much development in creating a partnership with Grow Plastics and our current paper supplier Central Paper, it has been determined that the new compostable lunch trays will not be available at the start of the 2018-19 school year. However, Grow Plastics has informed the Food Service Department that the lunch trays will be available sometime this fall, and at the very latest January 2019. The Food Service Department continues to work diligently with Grow Plastics and Central Paper on our new and exciting partnership.
