PWS Families,
Yesterday's Family Fun Night was a huge success. It was great to see all the beautiful paper flowers, pinwheels, and flower pots that were created. It is safe to say that the adults had as much, if not more fun than the kids. Congratulations to all the basket and teacher raffle winners. Mrs. Daley can't wait to get slimed and Mr. Mitchell is super excited about getting drenched. Thank you to Mrs. Armstrong, the staff, parent volunteers, and Mrs. Gibbons and the kitchen crew for all your hard work in putting this event together. It truly is a community event.
We were excited that this week provided nice enough weather to get the students outside. Remember to send your children in ready to go outside. Also, as the snow begins to melt you may want to consider sending in some extra clothes to prepare for the unexpected mud mishaps.
This morning, the PTG was able to provide our staff with their coffee and snack cart. It was greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all. They definitely know how to make our day.
Some of the kindergarteners have been busy decorating paper grocery bags. They are sure to put smiles on the faces of customers at Harvest Market starting on Monday. This random act of kindness is to help spread the love to our community for Valentine's Day.

Have a Great Weekend,

Cheryl Daley, Principal
Dan Mitchell, Assistant Principal

From the Community
Join us on Wednesday, March 13th at 6:30pm at McKelvie Intermediate School for a 90-minute Q&A with Dr. Dawn Huebner, nationally recognized Psychologist, Parent Coach and author of award-winning mental health books for kids. Dr. Huebner is best known for her What to Do Guides - including What to Do When You Worry Too Much and Outsmarting Worry - which have sold over 1 million copies. Rather than giving a one-size-fits-all talk, Dr. Huebner will be answering audience questions about how to recognize anxiety in kids, how to respond to it, and how to build skills to better manage it. Questions can be submitted in advance, written on a note card that evening (to maintain anonymity) or asked live. This is not a group therapy session but instead an informative Q&A that will leave you with a clearer understanding of anxiety, what parents do that inadvertently feeds it, and how to help your child get on the path to defeating it.
Check out Dr. Huebner in advance at her TEDx Talk on "Rethinking Anxiety: Learning to face fear" HERE.
