January 27, 2016

Dear PWS Families,

This week our first graders had the great experience of watching the Marionettes from Tanglewood Productions.  This is an annual tradition at PWS that the students always enjoy.  Thank you to the PTG for sponsoring this event!

Isn’t New England weather wonderful. One day we have ice and sleet and two days later we have the PTG Principals’ Winter Read when it is 50 degrees. With the ever changing weather we understand that it is not always easy to know how to dress for school or recess. A reminder that outdoor recess will happen if the temperature is above 20, so do your best to dress appropriately.  Also, please make sure your children bring in shoes to wear during the school day. Snow boots are bulky and often students feet get overheated in them.  Thanks for the help with this.

Report Cards for the second quarter are now available. Report Cards are now issued through the Parent Portal of Powerschool. Accessing the report card in your portal account is very easy and directions can be found here. Please take a moment to review the report card with your child. We are excited about the progress they have made.

The 3rd grade Inventive Thinking Unit's culmination is quickly approaching on Monday, February 20th.  The 4th grade Invention Convention will be held on Tuesday, February 21.  ALL IDEAS MUST BE IN BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 3 FOR BOTH GRADES.  Please check out Mrs. Speaker's Website for details.  Information can be found under the "Inventive Thinking-Grade 3" tab.
