PWS PrinciPal’s News
PWS Families,

The PWS Wall of Heroes is up and looks amazing. Thank you to Mrs. Beltramo for her hard work in organizing this effort and putting together the display. Throughout this week we oftentimes saw students stopped to look at the many faces, names, and stories of the veterans connected to PWS. Please take a stroll down the hallway when you are here to remember and honor our veterans. We would also like to invite any veterans in the Bedford community to come to PWS and view the Wall of Heroes.

As we take the day tomorrow  to enjoy some extra time off with our families, we want to take a moment to thank and recognize the many veterans that are associated with PWS in any way. To all our family members, friends, and supporters who have served our country and community in any way, we recognize you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.
Enjoy the Long Weekend,

Cheryl Daley (Principal)
Dan Mitchell (Assistant Principal)

WHAT IS VAPING? - November 27 from 7 - 8 pm at the Bedford Public Library

Bedford Police Chief John Bryfonski, Officer “Spike” Donahue and Officer Danielle Nightingale, School Resource Officers at Bedford High School/Ross A. Lurgio Middle School and McKelvie Intermediate School respectively, will give you the facts about vaping. Can you smell it?  Can people vape marijuana? Can people vape other substances?  What does a vape look like?  Where do people get vapes?  Is it legal for kids to vape? In addition, Dr. Joseph Hou, Pulmonologist at Catholic Medical Center, will also provide clinical information on vaping.  Is it addictive?  Is it harmful?  How does it affect young people?  How does it compare to smoking? The 40 minute presentation will be followed by a 20 minute question and answer session.  Get your questions about vaping answered!

Box Tops For Education Program
PWS participates in the Box Tops For EducationTM program - which means that we get money for our schools by sending in lots of little teeny- tiny rectangles.  Last year, we earned almost $3000, which went directly to the teachers to purchase items for their classrooms.
Over the next few weeks, classroom volunteers will be introducing the program to our new students and reminding returning students that they can help raise money for items in their classroom. We will collect and mail our Box Tops a few times a year.
What you can do to help:
1.       Clip and Bring: Look for pink Box Tops on products, clip them, and send them to school in your student’s Go Binders.  (Be sure to also include any special Box Top Codes or Bonus Box Tops!)
2.       Ask your Neighbors/Family: Send a note out to your neighbors that don't have school-age kids; they may not be aware that they are throwing away money.
3.       Become a BTFE Member: If you become a member on www.BTFE.com, you can enter PWS into ongoing raffles for free Box Tops, and get exclusive great coupons to products.
For more information on the Box Tops for Education program, including a list of participating products and our school’s progress, visit www.BTFE.com.

Crotched Mountain Ski Program
