  PWS PrinciPal’s News

We are a community that inspires and develops, engaged, successful learners every chance, every day.

Peter Woodbury School-A Place Where People Care!

March 12, 2021

Dear PWS Families,

It was an awesome week here at PWS as we experienced our first full week of our in-person students coming full time. The building was certainly a busy place with classrooms full of learners getting used to their new classmates. Spring-like weather was also a welcomed sight as students got to spend some more time outside comfortably with their friends. Please note that next week students will no longer be separated into zones during their lunch recess time. PWS also celebrated our inventive thinker winners this week and want to again congratulate all of the third graders that participated in this event.

Parent Drop Off:

We thank you for your continued support during our Phase Changes to make parent drop off and pick up a success. We need to remind you all that if you miss the parent drop off time of 7:30-7:55am it is expected that parents will park their vehicle at the front of the building and walk their student into the school building. This is a safety issue and it is important students are supervised. Thank you for your understanding.

SAS Testing:

3rd and 4th Grade Families: Please take some time to review PWS’s plan for statewide assessments for this school year. Use this RESOURCE for more information and planning.

Lunch Menu Change:

There has been a change in the online pre order menu Tuesday & Thursday next week (3/16 & 3/18).  Tuesday lists grilled cheese & tomato soup.  It is actually Chicken Caesar Salad.  Thursday states Shepherd's pie bowl and it is actually Pasta w/butter or meat sauce.

Kid’s Heart Challenge:

It's not too Late!  Sign your student up today for the Kids Heart Challenge and take advantage of online games and activities focused on physical and emotional health.  Plus, you can help PWS earn P.E. equipment and resources while also raising funds for the American Heart Association.  TO REGISTER:  DOWNLOAD THE APP OR VISIT HEART.ORG/KHC

Destination Imagination:

We would like to wish all our teams the best of luck in the Destination Imagination Virtual Tournament this weekend. We are so proud of the 13 Bedford teams who stepped up to the challenge of collaborating and creatively solving challenges virtually! We would also like to thank all of the volunteer Team Managers who facilitated all of the virtual meetings with these students.

BEEP:

Registration is now open for the 2021-2022 School Year for the Bedford Early Education Program (BEEP) at Memorial School. Class assignments are based on your child’s age as of September 30, 2021 and availability. Registration paperwork is available at Memorial School and classroom availability is on a first come first serve basis.

The school buses continue to be an option for transportation to and from school.
