Hello PWS Families,

We hope you are all staying warm in this chilly weather.  Please remember to have your child come to school with appropriate attire for outdoor weather.  We went outside on Thursday and hope to get outside as much as possible.

Student Stories
When in the classroom this week there were some fun stories.  One student was asked to use the contraction "didn't" in a sentence.  He stated, "I didn't brush my teeth this morning."  Another student was struggling with coming up with a sentence using the vocabulary word "natural".  After some encouragement he proudly stated, "Children are natural learners."

K-PLUS
When we have a delayed opening  K-Plus students should come to school like all the other students.  They go into Kindergarten starting at 10:00 then move to K-Plus at their regular time.  We are sorry about the confusion this caused with this week's delay.  Please do not hesitate to call one of us if you have any questions.

Kindergarten and First Grade Registration
Kindergarten and First Grade registration forms, for next year, will be available for pick up on Tuesday, March 4th from 7:30 AM-3:30 PM.  The return date for these forms is on Thursday, March 6th during the same times.  On March 7th if we have more than twenty students enrolled in K-Plus, we will have a lottery to determine admittance.  We will let you know the results of the lottery that day.

PTG & The Monarchs
Since Mother Nature extended our winter break, the PTG would like to extend the due date for the "Monarchs Night" ticket orders!  PTG has extended the due date to Tuesday 1/14/14!  Seats this year will be in the LOWER BOWL!  GREAT views, Great friends, GREAT time!! EVENT 1/25/14 VS. PORTLAND PIRATES.  Send your orders in with your student by Tuesday 1/14/14, asking the teacher to send them to the office for pick up.  Any questions?  Please email Krisin Koziol at kristinkoziol.ptg@comcast.net or go to www.bedfordptg.org.

High School/PWS Collaborative Project
For the past three years Peter Woodbury 4th graders have had the opportunity to collaborate with Bedford High School's World Religions Class.  These groups of students come together to learn, share, bond, and ultimately create an eBook retelling of various Jataka Tales.  Mrs. Cassamassino and Mrs. Armstrong, along with Mr. Sheil and Mr. Pepper from Bedford High School, are excited to share this experience at Monday night's (01/13/14) school board meeting. Be sure to tune into BCTV starting at 7:00 pm to watch the presentation.
