October 14, 2016

Dear PWS Families,
This has been a week full of learning at PWS. We continue working to make our Dining Room a pleasant place for students to enjoy their lunch and each other. The classroom teachers have spent a good amount of time working with the students about Dining Room expectations while in the classroom and during snack.

Fourth graders have had the opportunity to visit the Little Brick School House in Nashua, NH over the last two weeks. Here they learned what it was like to be a student in the 1800’s.  They were all amazed at the thought of pail lunches, stoves to heat the room, boys and girls sitting on different sides of the room, discipline (getting slapped if you wrote with your left hand), and outhouses.

Fourth graders also had a visit from WMUR meteorologist, Kevin Skarupa. He gave a wonderful presentation to all the classes. He even included a video of his visit on the morning newscast the next day.
Here is a link to the broadcast: Fourth Graders on WMUR

Ecosmith Recycle Bins for Destination Imagination
Did you know that every school in the district has an Ecosmith Recycle Bin?  This is a great way to donate/recycle old clothes, while helping raise funds for our teams who advance to Global Finals each year.  You can put any kind of fabrics in these bins, towels and stuffed animals too.  Ripped shirts and pants with holes are fine, as well as well worn shoes.  Bedford DI greatly appreciates your continued participation in this program.
