Dear PWS Families,

We hope that this post finds you well and that everyone has been able to stay warm over the last few chilly winter days. Some fun stories for this week...  A Kindergarten student told Mrs. Daley that he was running around the classroom because he was “Sleepwalking.”  Mr. Robitaille went into a first grade classroom to talk about self control.  He went to show how to use tools and deep breathing to calm our bodies down. Mrs. Daley went to talk to some second grade students about their behavior during recess.  When she knelt down to get at eye level with them the children knelt down as well….so sweet.  In a third grade classroom we participated in a division game with a group of students.  It was so endearing how they helped each other find matching cards.   Fourth graders showed kindness by helping the younger students get to their classrooms in the morning.  We love working with your children.  Thank you for sharing them with us!

PWS News:

NHPIE Rock Star Award:

PWS is very excited an announce that our very own Mrs. Cassamassino was selected as a 2020 NHPIE Granite State Rock Star. Mrs. Cassamassino has been recognized for her tireless efforts as the BSD transitioned to remote learning last spring. Mrs. Cassamassino has been essential in giving the students of PWS the best educational experience possible during these unique times. We thank and congratulate her hard work and dedication to our students!

Quarantine vs. Elective Travel:

As some families start to plan for February Vacation, we wanted to send a reminder about elective travel.  Also, if you do plan to travel outside of New England at any time, please make sure that you contact our nurse, Sam Ewing (in addition to your child’s classroom teacher) as she is responsible for setting quarantine dates for our students and staff members.

Our schools have an obligation to provide an education to students who are required to quarantine and be excluded from school due to exposure.  These students are a priority for our teachers (aside from the ones in front of them, of course).  Families who elect to stay home or travel will not receive the same service as those students who are required to be excluded.

PTG Notes:

THANK YOU FROM THE PTG: Thanks to everyone who tuned in to enjoy stories read by our Principals and Assistant Principals at Principal Winter Reading Night! You can watch them again by using this link: Principal Winter Reading Night 2021

COLOR BLAST FUN RUN/WALK:  We're bringing the Color Blast Fun Run/Walk to your front door! Just because things are a little different this year doesn't mean we can't have any fun. Join us for a virtual Color Blast Fun Run/Walk over the week of May 22. We will miss throwing color at you, but we'll make sure you have enough color to throw at your family :) Stay tuned for more details.

Thank you for taking some time and reviewing all of the happenings at PWS and around the District. We wish you a safe and happy weekend! Stay warm and we will see everyone next week!
