Dear PWS Families,
We had another fantastic week at PWS!  The fourth grade Chorus performed on Wednesday evening for parents and Thursday afternoon for the students and staff.  They are such a wonderful group of students and along with our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Curran, it was a touching performance. Fourth grade had a visit from the McKelvie band and chorus on Wednesday afternoon.  The students left the presentation excitedly talking about chorus or which instrument they should play in band.

PWS Happenings
For Parents in Grades 3 and 4
Just a reminder that students in Grades 3 and 4 will be taking the Developmental Asset Survey this coming week.  If you want to opt your child out of this survey and have not let us know, please send administration an email by Monday, May 23rd.  Thanks!

A message from Michele Leyden, our school’s Reading Specialist/ Title 1 Supervisor:
If you received a letter stating that your child qualified for the Summer Title I Math Clinic, please remember to return the form to me as soon as possible!  We are so excited to provide this clinic for the first time this year.  Qualified students will benefit from a review of skills and concepts that were introduced during their third grade school year.  If you happen to have misplaced your permission slip, please notify your child’s classroom teacher and a new one will be sent home.

Breakout EDU
On Monday, the school will be participating in a Breakout EDU activity starting at 1:00.  Maybe your child has already come home sharing how he/she "broke out", as many classrooms have already participated in one with Mrs. Speaker and Mrs. Cassamassino. A Breakout EDU session allows the students to engage in an activity that combines group work, collaborative thinking, problem solving in multiple curriculum areas. The students are asked to solve a series of problems to open locks to get additional clues to solve a final puzzle.  This will culminate with Sam Trent and Kaitlyn Daley, our Family Fun Night Winners,  getting to slime Mrs. Daley.  We will make sure that short clips are posted on Facebook, Instagram, and our website.
