Dear PWS Families,
Our week was amazing!  We began it with a school wide breakout ending in the sliming of Mrs. Daley! Watch the 5 minute video to see what it was all about!

Dear PWS Families,

PWS Happenings
A message from Michele Leyden, our school’s Reading Specialist/Title 1 Supervisor:
If you received a letter stating that your child qualified for the Summer Title I Math Clinic, please remember to return the form to me as soon as possible!  We are so excited to provide this clinic for the first time this year.  Qualified students will benefit from a review of skills and concepts that were introduced during their third grade school year.  If you happened to have misplaced your permission slip, please notify your child’s classroom teacher and a new one will be sent home.

4th Grade Poetry Presentations
As an integrated unit for the past four weeks, 4th grade students collaborated in Art, Music, Library, and Physical Education to bring the words of poetry off the page. Each group selected a poem to be presented through various art forms. The final presentations included murals, creative movement, and atmospheric sound recordings all based on their poem. The 4th grade classes had the privilege of sharing their work with their peers during an hour long collaborative performance on Thursday. The students and IA teachers did an amazing job bringing poetry to life through a variety of expressions!

Four Way Stops on County Road to Continue
The intersections at Nashua Road and County Road in front of Bedford High School and
at Liberty Hill Road and County Road in front of McKelvie School will remain 4-way stop intersections through the end of the school year.  On May 25, Bedford Police Department
met with the school district, the Department of Public Works and our engineering consultant
and decided to extend the temporary change.  More information can be found at the Bedford Police Department website.

Tree Clearing and Other Summer Construction Projects
The Bedford School District completes significant maintenance projects every summer.   McKelvie is having an older section of roof replaced and getting an upgrade to two student bathrooms in need of replacement.  At Peter Woodbury, the parking lot is being replaced and traffic flow is being reconfigured.  You may notice this project in late June or early July when the trees in front of Peter Woodbury are removed to make way for the expanded parking lot.
