November 4, 2016

Dear PWS Families,

It has been a very special week here at Peter Woodbury School. It all started with our annual Halloween parade. It was a wonderful experience to see the students with their costumes parade for all the parents. Thank you to all who came out to make this event so special for the students. The students did such a nice job not only with the parade but also the days that followed. It was very nice to see all the students use their tools and strategies to stay and work in the “Green Zone”.

Our Wall of Heroes looks great once again. Thank you to Mrs. Beltramo for putting this display together. We encourage you to stop by and give it a look. While you are here you will also be able to enjoy our display of pictures from Math and Literacy Night created by Joya Shaheen, Mia Dickson, and Mandy Barwell. Also, the display case this month is featuring the children’s books that have been the most meaningful to our staff. We look forward to seeing many of you over the next few weeks as you come for parent teacher conferences.

PWS Happenings
Sand Toys Needed
It is the time of year when we know that many of you will be putting away your summer toys and clothes and preparing for the upcoming winter. If in your cleaning, you find any sand toys that you no longer want to keep we would be happy to take them off your hands and add to our amazing sand box. Please send in any unwanted toys to school or feel free to just add them to the sandbox the next time you are here. The students greatly appreciate your donations.

"The Drowsy Chaperone"
November 10th, 11th and 12th @ 7 PM
November 13th @ 2 PM
November 18th and 19th @ 7 PM
Tickets are $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (65+) and $5 for Students.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar (Second City Alum) and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison. It is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.

Ecosmith Recycle Bins for Destination Imagination
Did you know that every school in the district has an Ecosmith Recycle Bin?  This is a great way to donate/recycle old clothes, while helping raise funds for our teams who advance to Global Finals each year.  You can put any kind of fabrics in these bins, towels and stuffed animals too.  Ripped shirts and pants with holes are fine, as well as well worn shoes.  Bedford DI greatly appreciates your continued participation in this program.

If anyone is interested in buying new PWS gear such as shirts, sweatshirts, pajama pants, and lunch bags please visit  www.bedfordwear.com.  If you would prefer, we also have paper order forms available in the front office.
